I walked in sin for many years,
enjoying its pleasures,
claiming happiness . . .
but I was empty.
Then I tasted the goodness of God.
(Psalm 34:8)
He caused me to understand . . .
how precious is His steadfast love
how real
how satisfying
unlike any love I had ever known.
And so . . .
I took refuge in the shadow of His
wings;
I feasted on the abundance of His
house;
I drank from the river of His
delights.
I am filled.
I am satisfied.
For . . .
with
[my God] is the fountain
of life.
In
[His] light do [I] see light.
(Psalm
36:9)
[He] makes known to me the path of
life.
In [His] presence
there is fullness
of joy.
At
[His] right hand are pleasures
forevermore.
(Psalm 16:11)
to
dwell in Your courts!
the
holiness
of Your temple!
